Build cron expressions visually with human-readable explanations.
0 9 * * *The Cron Expression Generator & Parser is an essential DevOps and backend engineering utility that translates between human-readable scheduling rules and standard POSIX cron syntax. Supporting standard 5-field crontabs (minute, hour, day of month, month, day of week) and 6-field quartz syntax, it explains schedules in plain English and calculates upcoming trigger times.
From left to right: Minute (0-59), Hour (0-23), Day of Month (1-31), Month (1-12 or JAN-DEC), and Day of Week (0-6 or SUN-SAT, where 0 and 7 are Sunday).
An asterisk (*) means "every value" (e.g., every minute). A slash (/) specifies step increments (e.g., */5 in the minute field means "every 5 minutes").
Yes! GitHub Actions workflow triggers use standard POSIX cron expressions on the UTC timezone schedule.
Set the Day of Week field to "1-5" (Monday through Friday). For example, "0 9 * * 1-5" runs at 9:00 AM every Monday through Friday.
